Job description

The Shopify Developer will be responsible for developing and implementing high-quality, scalable fullstack web solutions for Ecommerce or web applications using industry best practices and the latest technical trends. This entails taking part in proposals, critical negotiations, evaluating risks, and optimally delivering expected changes. Your main task will be to comprehend the ecommerce strategy and execution and contribute to achieving widespread enterprise aims. You will assist in identifying growth opportunities, integrating them post-implementation, and liaising with our internal teams. You will build and maintain robust relationships with clients, professionals in the field, and company stakeholders, ensuring project objectives are met within set timelines and budgets.

  • Providing solutions and technical guidance to other members
  • Advising clients on ecommerce selection, implementation, and evaluation
  • Assisting in the creation and rollout of ecommerce strategies
  • Proactively contributing to marketing technology projects
  • Guiding the implementation of ecommerce enhancement measures
  • Understanding core underlying technical aspects of the ecommerce platform Shopify to implement new features/troubleshoot and resolve bugs
  • Designing, implementing, integrating, and optimizing solutions crucial for business. The solutions typically built across the ecommerce platform are: Order management, inventory management, payment services, fulfillment, CMS, CRM, CDP, customer experience solutions, analytics & tracking tools, optimization & personalization tools, and more
  • Creating and managing supporting documentation deliverables – User Stories, Technical Specifications Document (TSD), Use Cases, Data Mapping, Workflow Diagrams and more
  • Writing neat, semantic, indented and thoroughly commented code for HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Collaborating with varied departments within the global EY network, facilitating project progress, and supporting team members’ professional growth

Our requirements

  • University degree in Marketing, Business, IT or related field (Master’s, MBA or Ph.D. is a plus)
  • 3+ years experience working with Liquid, JavaScript, jQuery and AJAX as necessary
  • Superb troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Advanced experience with HTML5, and CSS, SASS
  • Proficiency with Shopify tooling – Themekit / CLI
  • Advanced knowledge of JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks and libraries
  • Working knowledge of Cloud Platforms, Version Control Systems (such as Git or Mercurial), Jenkins, Gulp, Jira, Confluence, Git Hub, and Bit Bucket
  • Experience working in Agile development environments; utilizing Scrum principles to execute projects
  • React.js experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, rapid comprehension, and precise work methods
  • High level of commitment and teamwork
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & French (min. C1)
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 9-12 years of relevant work experience
  • Extensive knowledge of ecommerce platforms

  • Experience with Digital Transformation: Proven leadership in driving digital change initiatives, considering the increasing role of digital tech in marketing
  • Understanding of Regulatory Landscape: Sound knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance issues in digital marketing
  • Project management experience is strongly encouraged
