Job description
ADAS Functions Team Lead leads a team of functional discipline engineers through various product development and production cycles delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions internally and to our customer. The Team Lead has responsibility for people management (development, coaching) and technical leadership for those projects in his/her domain. On demand, the team lead performs technical tasks within the project and company mandated targets.
- Provides technical leadership in directing the efforts of the team in the development of all relevant deliverables in compliance with the product development process and customer expectations
- Acts as primary management interface and escalation for all issues related to his/her domain
- Leads the planning, monitoring and reporting of team members
- Supports critical project phases and resolves technical problems
- Ensures engineering targets (quality, delivery timing, performance, engineering budget, etc.) for engineering deliverables are met
- Ensures design reviews are completed and productive
- Ensures the quality of all team deliverables meet standards and timing
- Ensure any required cross-functional design reviews or data sharing is completed
- Defines a clear strategy and workflow for the responsible discipline, including reusability, guidelines and tooling
- Ensures the documented workflows are being followed on all development programs
- Ensures proper engineering quote response is provided for new projects and engineering changes; as necessary, supports customer technical reviews
- Responsible for hiring process of new team members
- Ensures proper staffing of projects
- Ensures appropriate technical supplier relationships for all key suppliers
- Ensures proper sign off on quality of event for all engineering deliverables
- Ensures proper engineering quote response is provided for new projects and engineering changes; as necessary, supports customer technical reviews
- Directly manages the team in the implementation of objectives and overall activities and effort estimates
- Participates in continuous improvement efforts, researches, recommends and initiates implementation of enhancements to products, processes and programs
- Provides guidance and direction on personal development (mentoring) of team members
- Ensures all necessary project engineering documentation and data is generated and maintained to ensure traceability and compliance to company procedures (e.g. Process - Work Instructions) and applicable standards (e.g. ISO/TS 16949, ISO/IEC TR 15504)
- Acts as working supervisor and performs regular engineering tasks together with the leadership role; the split of the workload will be determined by the size of the team
- Performs complex work assignments requiring independent problem solving and decision making, requiring strong software technical competency
- Leads the planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting of all functions software related activities for various projects
- Tracks key process indicators as defined in KPI/Balanced Scorecards
- Reports the status on responsible discipline to management
- Works with other Line Managers to improve development processes (in compliance with ASPICE and ISO26262), including creation of templates, guidelines as well as the definition of best practices and lessons learned
- Performs other duties as necessary for completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals
- Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives
- Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations
- Maintains regular attendance
- Follows safe work procedures; Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Uses workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Reports workplace hazards, injuries and illness as soon as possible following event.

Our requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Software Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering or equivalent (Master’s preferred)
- 8+ years relevant experience regarding the Responsibility / Activities (listed above)
Technical
- Functional Safety (ISO 26262)
- Knowledge of embedded software development in C/C++ for 16 bit and 32 bit micro-controllers including application and low level drivers for multiple micro-controllers such as PPC microcontrollers, ARM Core, or DSP
- Experience with SW implementation of low-level driver software such as SPI, I2C, PWM for various microcontrollers
Practical
- Working knowledge in structured engineering approach
- Working knowledge in development of portable, reusable and modular software in automotive environment
- Experience in using a disciplined software development process based on ASPICE or CMMi process model and Functional Safety (ISO 26262)
- Troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Knowledge of structured problem solving (8D) methods and/or techniques
Abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a global environment
- Ability to represent technical topics internally and externally
- Ability to moderate and motivate global teams
- Travel (domestic and international) may be needed
- Self-motivation, tenacity, and communication skills

- Ability to teach and mentor team members
Computer
- Knowledge of MS Office package (especially Excel)
- Knowledge of analysis and engineering tools such as version control/configuration management, UML tools, static code check tools
- Knowledge of version control and configuration management tools
- Knowledge of ALM tools
- Experience with SAP
Language
- Comprehensive knowledge of English (speak & write)
