Spyrosoft has employed as many as 80 people since the beginning of this year. Moreover, the team grew by 20 employees only in April and May. The company implements new projects, such as cooperation on a monitoring system for patients with Covid-19.

The coronavirus epidemic changed the lives of Poles. In addition to concerns regarding health, also the concern about the professional future, employment stability and the amount of earnings have appeared. Does this also apply to IT employees? What is the situation in the Spyrosoft Group, which provides IT services since 2016?

Strong net profit and stable position

The global pandemic and the resulting crisis, so painful for many companies, did not affect the stability of Spyrosoft – a provider of software and technological solutions for industries such as: automotive, finance, industry 4.0, medicine, geospatial services and HR. New employees are hired continuously here. From the beginning of 2020 until May this year, a total of 80 people were employed – 53 of them in Wrocław only, 16 in Kraków, and 4 in Białystok. Of these, as many as 20 specialists joined the company in April and May, i.e. during the so-called freezes of the Polish economy.

Apart from Wrocław, Kraków and Białystok, the teams also expanded in Warsaw, London and Zagreb. This means that 501 specialists work for the Group, which also has offices in Munich, Braunschweig (Germany) and Detroit (USA).

“We deal with software engineering. We work with advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, as well as technologies based on the currently popular public clouds. In the era of a pandemic, our main strength are projects that constitute long-term customer investments, such as those implemented in the automotive industry. In addition, we are flexible and able to translate technological and quality solutions from one industry to another – hence our presence in the dynamically growing medical industry. The stable condition of the Spyrosoft Group is manifested, inter alia, by the fact that we are constantly looking for employees “- assures Tomasz Bienkiewicz, president of Spyrosoft Solutions S.A.

Recently, the scope of work of our software developers has increased by six new projects. They are implemented for clients from such industries as finance, HR, industry and medicine. Particularly noteworthy is cooperation with the provider of telemedicine solutions in the development of a system for remote monitoring of patients with Covid-19. The system provides, among others, monitoring of saturation, pulse and body temperature of the patient, and enables remote care.

Despite the pandemic and the economic slowdown, the Spyrosoft Group has a stable market position. Consolidated revenues of the Spyrosoft S.A. Capital Group in the first quarter of 2020 amounted to PLN 25.2 million – a result about 74% higher than last year and by 3% higher than in the previous quarter. The net profit generated in the first three months of this year amounted to PLN 2.8 million. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2019, this is an increase by 126%. From February 2020, the company is listed on NewConnect, the market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

Crisis as an opportunity to strengthen the IT industry

Both the financial results and the stable position of Spyrosoft confirm the general view of the analysts from International Data Corporation (IDC). According to their April forecasts, the global information technology market will shrink by 2.7% in 2020, compared to 2019. However, there will be sectors that will continue to grow despite the pandemic. IDC experts expect, among others, an increase in expenditure on software or the cloud, caused by the need to adapt the business to new conditions.

“The situation in the IT industry is very diverse at the moment. IT companies with a high exposure to sectors related to retail, transport and tourism are certainly in a difficult situation. In the long run, however, the lessons that companies can learn from the outbreak will drive our industry forward as many companies invest in digitization. Spyrosoft’s task is to support this transformation, so now we also offer our experience in the field of Product Design and technology consulting to the new clients,” underlines Konrad Weiske, president of Spyrosoft S.A.

Hence, any uncertainty about a job in the IT industry should be treated temporarily. At Spyrosoft, recruitment processes are ongoing – regardless of the coronavirus.
