Role overview

We are looking for experienced senior developer to join an innovative and collaborative environment. In this role, you will play a critical part in unifying the backend infrastructure for our flagship clients’ apps, transforming them into a cohesive platform while maintaining their unique functionalities. This includes creating scalable, high-performing solutions and supporting a wide array of front-end client teams.

We’re looking for a senior engineer with expertise in TypeScript and Node JS, along with experience writing automated tests and adopting a TDD approach. You’ll have a strong command of AWS services such as Lambda and CloudWatch and a deep understanding of the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC). A solid grasp of software design principles and best practices is essential, as is a commitment to engineering excellence and a collaborative approach to learning and sharing knowledge within the team. We value pragmatic problem-solving and a focus on delivering efficient, maintainable solutions.

In addition to the core skills, we appreciate experience in Agile methodologies, pair programming, and CI/CD pipelines. If you are passionate about simplifying complex problems and improving the monitoring, performance, and resilience of backend systems, this is an exciting opportunity for you. A focus on experimentation will be central to your work, as you will be encouraged to explore innovative solutions, optimize performance, and streamline our processes to better serve our users and front-end teams.

 

Essential Key Skills and Responsibilities 

You will: 

  • have expertise in Typescript and Node.JS
  • have knowledge of writing automated tests (EG Jest)
  • enjoy taking a TDD approach
  • be familiar with AWS Lambda and Cloudwatch
  • have experience with the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance
  • have solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns and best practices
  • have an aspiration for engineering excellence, using knowledge sharing to learn from each other to be involved and to be vocal.

Experience 

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work-based experience.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects.
  • Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies.
  • Experience with providing coaching and mentoring
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
  • Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.
  • You are flexible and curious in your approach
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Additional information

Fixed-term contract until the end of March 2025 with the possibility of extension.
