Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with expert knowledge of Linux based operating systems and have expertise in developing AWS EC2 and Lambda components, Cloudwatch and Dynamo DB to join us working with our media client to upgrade and modernise their linked data platform.

The successful application will also have knowledge of AWS OpsWorks, TypeScript, Java and Scala while experience upgrading Linux CentOS 7 to Rocky 8 or upgrading versions of Node would be advantageous.

We value a collaborative approach, so excellent communication skills are must. The ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team will be crucial for success in this role.

Essential Key Skills and Responsibilities

You will:

be an expert working with Linux operating systems
have knowledge of Amazon Web Services
have experience AWS OpsWorks (desired)
have experience of TypeScript, Java and Scala (desired)
have professional experience of working in projects using Agile Scrum development processes
enjoy collaborating with other engineers
have a strong willingness to learn and be a keen team player
have experience of writing and taking responsibility for technical documentation

Experience

A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work based experience.
Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects.
Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies.
Experience with providing coaching and mentoring
Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.
You are flexible and curious in your approach
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
