Project description

We are looking for a Senior Python Developer with experience in processing geographical data. Our project involves a map application for visualizing flooding/draught risk and other environmental risks in the UK.

Main responsibilities

  • Taking part in ideation/discovery sessions with the customer;
  • Giving technical advice to the customer;
  • Having a proactive approach to identify current problems in the app;
  • Identifying and implementing new features;
  • Documenting the implemented work in a structured way;
  • Actively participate in team meetings;

Position requirements

  • +7 years of experience in Python programming;
  • Experience in handling server-side operations, managing databases, and processing data;
  • Working experience with backend technologies;
  • Working experience with Azure (ideally) or other cloud provider;
  • Working with Scrum methodology and Jira;
  • Geographical data knowledge is nice to have:
    – performing geoprocessing operations;
    – spatial analysis and algorithms;
    – vector/raster datasets, geometry primitives, coordinate reference systems;
  • Java knowledge is a plus;
  • Writing work documentation (workflow, diagrams);
  • Communicative, structured person with focus on customer needs and business view;
  • Advanced English level;
