Project Description:

Our customer is a leading German producer of customized solutions for the self-supply of solar-powered electricity. This includes photovoltaic, energy storage systems as well as cloud technology systems helping individuals to become energetically independent.

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Java and Rust, and a strong background in integrating external hardware modules. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in Linux environments, utilizing MQTT, TLS, Yocto Project, Git, Docker, and Cgroups. This role is pivotal to the success of our renewable energy projects, focusing on seamless hardware integration to optimize energy storage and management systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integration of external hardware modules with our existing software infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain robust, scalable software using Java and Rust.
  • Design and implement communication protocols using MQTT and secure data transmission with TLS.
  • Customize and build Linux-based systems using the Yocto Project.
  • Utilize Docker and Cgroups to manage and isolate applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware integration issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices and standards.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development with Java and Rust.
  • Proficiency in Linux environments and system-level programming.
  • Strong knowledge of MQTT and TLS protocols.
  • Experience with the Yocto Project for embedded Linux development.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Cgroups.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
