Business challenge
For over 140 years, Vorwerk has continually reinvented itself, offering its customers outstanding hero product ecosystems, innovative technologies and the highest quality. Vorwerk’s core business is direct sales, the development and production of innovative premium household appliances. This number one direct sales company in Europe developed a new version of their renowned Thermomix® device. They aimed to equip the Thermomix® TM7 (launched in February 2025) with an advanced human-machine interface (HMI). The newest model was to be controlled fully from the touch panel, without a physical knob present in previous versions.

The main challenge was to develop a visually appealing, smooth, and feature-rich HMI that would operate effectively on hardware with limited resources. The solution also had to lay a strong foundation for future development—building a scalable platform that supports new features and continuous product innovation. Because for Vorwerk progress means more than just technology – it is the ‘wow’ moments in everyday life. Those moments of excitement when we use intuitive and powerful technology to develop new hero products for the home and bring them to the Vorwerk community – always with the advisors at the centre.

Our role
From PoC to production
Our collaboration with Vorwerk began in 2022, starting with a proof of concept (PoC) phase to identify the most suitable technology. The Spyrosoft team showcased the potential of Qt as an HMI framework, which was later chosen by Vorwerk.
Scope of the work
Our responsibilities involved designing HMI architecture, developing scalable HMI software, conducting quality assurance tests, and ensuring smooth operation on constrained hardware. The focus was on creating a flexible framework that enables seamless collaboration across teams, supporting long-term scalability and continuous innovation.
A cross-functional team
We formed a dedicated team of experts, including:
- Qt software developers.
- QA engineers using Squish and Robot Framework.
- A product owner,
- A scrum master.
The team supported selected HMI areas. A Spyrosoft Product Owner and Agile Master joined Vorwerk to ensure seamless collaboration.
Spyrosoft experts took on key roles, shaping technical decisions and expanding Qt expertise within Vorwerk, enabling the engineers to further develop and scale the platform.

Service’s impact and benefits
Our collaboration with Vorwerk has led to a user-friendly and visually appealing HMI. The system’s architecture lays the foundation for efficient operation and allows for further development and updates. Aligning with Thermomix®’s high standards, the new TM7 interface provides an even more enjoyable cooking experience. This approach strongly aligns with Vorwerk’s philosophy of inspiring people through an active community of advisors, customers and employees, fostering connections, opportunities and a strong sense of belonging. Precisely because of this close relationship with its community and the continuous feedback it generates, delivering intuitive and well-functioning user-friendly applications is essential to meet expectations and continuously enhance the overall user experience.
