Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a project working on the critical tasks of migrating multiple Jenkins pipelines to AWS CodeBuild and CodePipeline as a like-for-like replacement in both Test and Live environments. This migration is essential to modernize and enhance the existing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) infrastructure, ensuring that the system remains robust, efficient, and scalable..
The primary objective is to achieve a flawless transition from the current Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines to AWS CodeBuild and CodePipeline. This includes meticulously replicating the functionality of existing pipelines in the new environment, ensuring that all workflows, processes, and integrations continue to operate smoothly without disruptions.
The end goal of the project is to have a fully operational AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline CI/CD system that not only replicates the functionality of the old Jenkins pipelines but also significantly improves performance and scalability. The success of this project will be measured by the absence of critical issues during the transition, the improved speed of build times, and the overall stability and efficiency of the new pipelines.
Essential Skills:
You will:
- AWS CI/CD: Hands-on experience with AWS CodePipeline and CodeBuild
- Proficient in Jenkins pipeline management, especially with “Groovy” scripting
- Previous experience migrating Jenkins pipelines to AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline
- Knowledge of Java, MongoDB, JUnit, and Docker
- Enjoy pair programming and collaborating with other engineers
- Have a strong willingness to learn and be a keen team player
- Have experience of writing and taking responsibility for technical documentation.
Experience:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work based experience.
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Developer ideally with a focus on media-related projects
- Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies
- Experience with providing coaching and mentoring
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios
- Knowledge of software development tools and technologies
- You are flexible and curious in your approach
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
