Project Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Manager to join our Design System team. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving the development and evolution of our design system, ensuring its alignment with our overall product strategy and business goals. You will be part of a cross-functional team, including a designer, developer, technical writer, and scrum master. You will work closely with stakeholders, to define and prioritize features, manage the product roadmap, and deliver a world-class design system that enhances the user experience across our products.

This role includes managing the design system and the digital orgs knowledge repository which the design system documentation lives on. The knowledge repository includes guidelines and standards for teams to create customer facing solutions. There are multiple teams that feed content into the knowledge repository but the ownership lies with the design system team.

  • Lead the team through creation and maintenance of our design system, ensuring its consistency, scalability, and usability across all products and platforms.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements, define product vision, and establish clear goals and objectives for the design system.
  • Conduct user research, analyze market trends, and gather feedback from internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Define and prioritize features and enhancements for the design system based on user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • Create and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with the overall product strategy and business objectives.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of the design system into product development processes.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure the design system meets the highest standards of visual and interaction design.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of the design system, and make data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement.
  • Track and report on product progress, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to design systems and user experience.
  • Ownership of Primer Knowledge repository (consolidated repository of Digital guidelines/standards) and the Primer Design.
