Job description
• Develop electrical / mechanical / optical hardware in compliance with Global Product Engineering Process (GPEP);
• Project management of all hardware and validation related activities per master timing plan;
• Primary hardware interface to the customer;
• Evaluate customer specifications and translation into designs;
• Evaluating internal and external engineering design change requests;
• Develop and manage project level hardware requirements;
• Communication and project status reporting including Timing and budget;
• Tracking and resolution of change requests and defect records;
• Deployment of development documentation according development process GPEP;
• Release hardware design for assigned project(s) and quotes;
• Risk management / Mitigation of Risks regarding Hardware;
• Meet BOM and engineering effort budgets for assigned project (Drive VAVE activities);
Project description
The Hardware Project Lead is responsible for development and validation of electrical hardware according customer and internal requirements including project budget.
Customer interface, project management, and technical lead of a project team (Electrical, Mechanical, Validation engineers) are the main activities.
GPEP Process, PTC Integrity, PTC Windchill, SAP Systems must be utilized to ensure activities are completed efficiently and on schedule to meet program expectations.
Our requirements
Technical knowledge:
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of product development engineering practices in electrical engineering field;
• Knowledge of the application and delivery of advanced electronic systems into the automotive industry;
• Understanding of new technologies and cutting-edge methods in the industry;
• Demonstrated problem solving skills as well as keen analytical abilities in a teamwork setting;
• Working knowledge in structured engineering approach;
• Working knowledge in risk management;
• Advanced Knowledge of IATF16949 / ISO 26262 Processes;
• Comprehensive working knowledge of the Product Development Life Cycle (GPEP);
Personal requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred);
• Minimum of 5 years technical experience in product development;
• Minimum of 2 years automotive customer experience;
• Good team and people skills, including interpersonal skills that are required to lead, mentor, communicate, and build the technical capabilities of a cross-functional and cross- cultural organization;
• Able to work effectively in a global environment;
• Able to lead and motivate a diverse team of engineers and technical specialists;
• Able to represent technical topics internally and externally;
• Expert communication skills;
• Travel (domestic and international) may be needed;
• Self-starter who can work in a fast paced and multifaceted environment;
• Strong and effective decision-making skills;
Computer & Language skills:
• Knowledge of MS Office package;
• Knowledge of analysis and engineering tools (i.e. requirement, change and configuration management tools, document control and archiving tools, modelling and analysis tools, etc.);
• Comprehensive knowledge of English language (verbal and written);
• Advanced knowledge of German language;
